“real beauty is my aim” – Many are surprised to learn that this quote belongs to Gandhi.  It is certainly a goal worthy of life long pursuit.  I now live in The Hague after spending 30 years in Calcutta, India helping to oversee non-profit projects: the most recent being Living Hope Schools  http://www.livinghopeindia.org

Undoubtedly, I am influenced by the hot colors and rich textures of India.  The indomitable cheer of the Bengali people in the midst of Calcutta’s urban chaos has made a deeper impact.

Will Leonard graduated from Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts in 1980.  He worked with sculptor D. Lee DuSell on commissioned work before teaching art for two years at a private school.  In 1983 he traveled to India and began a 30 year career helping to oversee non-profit projects. He and his wife now live in The Hague. They have two children, a son and a daughter both born in Calcutta. Will’s work is held in private collections in the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Finland and throughout the Netherlands.
